Losing weight after 40 requires a different approach

Hello, Tanya Zucco here. So back here again talking to my women over 40 who are struggling to create the body you want. And yes, you're probably doing all the right things, meaning, you're eating a healthy diet, the exercise, yet, you still can't seem to lose that fat weight and get the body you want. So you've already probably realized that something else is up. And you've already probably found that the traditional recommendations of eat less, move more is not what's going to work for you. And you are right, because it's probably your hormones.

And so when we talk about hormonal changes after 40, what most people think, is that we're just talking about a decrease in sex hormones, meaning estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Therefore, most people jump to just trying to fix those. But what you'll soon realize if you do that is you might have some improvement, but you're still not really achieving the results you want. And this is because there's actually three other factors that are really important to deal with. And these can actually be the root cause of what's affecting the imbalance and decrease in your sex hormones.

So that's one of the key factors that I take into consideration in my practice, which is a functional or root cause medicine. See, the complete and whole picture has to be has to be looked at in order to really achieve the full transformation you want. And you've got to address what's causing the issue in the first place.

So you might be wondering what those additional three factors are. So they are insulin, cortisol, and inflammation, insulin being the hormone, which helps to regulate blood sugar, and cortisol, the stress hormone, and inflammation, which is the disruptor of all hormones. And if you optimize those three things, then all the other hormones, the sex hormones are going to perform much better. And it's going to be much easier for you to lose weight and feel and perform your best.
