Three hormones that affect fat management

Hey, what's up everyone, Tanya Zucco here, I am super pumped to be here with you guys, today. My camera looks a little foggy, probably cuz it's, like 90 degrees and superhuman.

But anyways, for those of you that don't know me, I am Tanya Zucco. I am a board certified functional medicine practitioner, physician assistant, and hormone expert. And I help women 40 plus, or even actually 35 plus, to master their hormones and metabolism so they can lose stubborn weight and look and feel amazing.

So let's talk about the top three hormones that influence the body's fat management, okay. And this is specifically important for really anyone above 30, 35, 40 even more, so as you get older, if you're trying to lose weight, and get rid of these darn nagging symptoms, right? And you've probably tried everything right, you've diligently tried dieting, you've tried keto, you've tried low carb, you've tried just macros and counting calories and more protein and you feel like you've done all of it. But nothing is working. In fact, the opposite might be happening, right? You might actually be gaining weight, even though you're trying to do all the right thing.

So okay, so the three key hormones that have to be measured and strategically targeted in your weight loss and health goal efforts as you age are growth hormone,
testosterone and insulin. Okay, not just these, because all the hormones play together, you've also got to obviously look at thyroid and estrogen, but specifically, we're talking about the three that are really the most important in body fat management.

Okay, so the first one is growth hormone. So growth hormone helps all your cells regenerate, okay, when you're young, when you're a kid, it helps you get taller. But when you are an adult, it helps us stay nice and lean, by helping us build muscle and burn fat. Okay, now, if you stress too much, eat too many carbs sit too much and certainly don't exercise enough, you are going to have lower level lower levels of growth hormone. And just physiologically after age 30, our growth hormone levels decline, okay. So even if you are doing all the right things, your levels are likely declining. So it's important to measure and strategically target it, then is the best friend of growth hormone, which is testosterone.

So testosterone is the most abundant hormone actually in both men and women. And not only does testosterone also have similar properties to growth hormone and helping us build muscle and lose fat, okay, helps us stay lean doesn't doesn't make us huge. Testosterone is also recognized, and many other pathways within the body, including keeping our metabolism healthy, and our libido healthy. Also brain fog mindset. Testosterone is involved in all sorts of different things within the body. So testosterone, like growth hormone also declines as we age starting at age 30.

Okay, now, insulin is the third one. So insulin is what helps to regulate the amount of glucose in the blood. So in a normal, healthy individual, when we eat foods that cause our blood glucose to rise, the body tells us to secrete insulin, and it is taken up into the cells. But if you don't manage stress well, and if you eat too many carbohydrates as well, the body is going to become essentially numb to that message. And you can get what we call insulin resistance, which makes it really hard to lose weight, because it increases our hunger and it increases fat storage, thus making us gain weight or retain wait. So again, all these things can happen even if we have the right intentions. And we're doing all the right things.

So my message to you guys today is there is hope. Even if you're doing all the right things, I promise, okay, get these things measured, strategically target these different hormones, and, and you will lose that fat and feel amazing.
