I've always been an athlete, and I thought that as long as I'm "eating clean and healthy" I'm doing good (PS. What does that even REALLY mean?!).

Until a few years ago, I didn't truly understand what nutrition our bodies REALLY need as athletes and I certainly didn't appreciate the power of nutrition. Now when I say nutrition, I mean so much more than calories. 

After 3 years of injuries on and off and winding my way through that somehow, it all came to a head in 2015 when I could not break the pattern.  I had 3 stress fractures, back to back to back.  All my tests were normal: bone scans, labs, you name it and given my medical background, I had access to many very smart medical folks!  After months of frustration with no answers it finally dawned on me. The thing I helped my athletes and clients with, was something I myself had been neglecting.  

I was busy, I hate and still hate to cook, I didn't have time nor did I want to dedicate time to meal prep and grocery shopping and essentially creating a part-time job for myself to take care of my nutrition...I needed a simple solution!  There had to be an answer.  

I needed to make sure I was getting in the adequate nutrients, at the right time, focusing not only on macronutrient and micronutrient types, but also focusing on timing, paring, and doing the right things to improve recovery and healing, to make me strong and perform well, both in training and racing....

After much debate, research and trial, I found my solution. 

In 2016, I was stronger, leaner, felt better, performed better both daily in training and in racing and I won my age group at Ironman Wisconsin gaining me my invite to the Ironman World Championships.  

My body has never been the same.

It doesn't have to be one or the other! I teach you my strategies for race day nutrition to help you prevent GI distress and help you race better.
