VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

It's Tanya Zucco here. Functional Medicine Practitioner and high performance health coach.

Let's talk about five reasons you can't lose weight that have nothing to do with how often you exercise or how many calories you're eating. So number one, blood sugar imbalance. I'm not talking about being a diabetic, I'm talking about my generally healthy women who think they eat healthy yet they still have a blood sugar imbalance per their lab testing. I see it all the time. There's many factors that come into play here and it's important to look at this and fix it.

Number two low thyroid function including subclinical hypothyroidism, labs could be normal, but they might not be optimal, you've got to have a look at this.

Number three is sex hormone imbalance, okay? Could be estrogen dominance, it could be low DHEA, or testosterone could be low progesterone. So as we age, especially in our 30s and beyond, our hormones decline and they get imbalanced in relation to each other.

Number four, high cortisol, having high cortisol could be due to high stress. An indication of this could be weight gain around the midsection, and there's lots of reasons for a high cortisol and it's important to find out your unique cause and fix it.

Number five is toxicity, inflammation and issues with detox pathways, daily exposure to pesticides, mold, stuff like that can really take a toll and screw with your hormones.

So as you can see, there's lots of reasons that you might be having trouble losing weight, and have other symptoms like fatigue, sleep issues, performance issues. And you know, especially if your diet is good and your exercise is good. It could certainly be a cause of the issue. You can't lose weight. So if you're over 40, you're struggling with losing weight, and you'd love some support around this. I would love to help shoot me a DM and let's see how I can help.
