Low Testosterone is a big problem for women, not only men!

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Hey, what's up, everyone? It's Tanya Zucco here. Hope you're having an amazing week. Amazing start to the new year. So a question that came to me from someone that I was speaking with today is, is testosterone important for me? Is testosterone important for women? And my answer is, oh my gosh, yes. So let's talk about a little bit why testosterone is not only an important hormone for men, especially as we age, and it starts to decline, but why it's also such an important hormone for women.

So hello, guys, those of you who don't know me, This is Tanya Zucco. I am a PA and functional medicine practitioner, and hormone expert. And my expertise is helping women 40 Plus lose weight and look, feel and perform their best by optimizing their health and their hormones.

So let's get back to today's topic, which is testosterone. So first, you might be thinking, Okay, well, great, well, what symptoms does testosterone, low testosterone give us? So some key symptoms are premature hair loss, fatigue, just feeling a diminished resistance to stress of all kinds, thinning hair, obviously, as women, you know, we notice it more on the head, but anywhere, feeling more passive, or Blah. With regards to muscles, you can see loss of volume, loss of tone, loss of strength, and that feeling of loss of strength. Also, low testosterone can cause us to have more cellulite, more varicose veins. Also, one of the key things that we all know, of course, is declining sex drive, as well as just feeling less likely to be ambitious and do exciting things in your day-to-day life, almost like that sort of depressed, depressive type of feeling. And of course, along with this comes this inability to really shed weight. Okay. So those are some of the key, some of the key symptoms that I see with people in low testosterone.

So you might be thinking, Okay, this sounds like me, what do I do about it? So what I like to do with my clients is I like to test testosterone. And I like to do with with dried urine testing along with all the other hormones as well, because as you guys know, and as I preach to the choir, all the hormones work together. Now, of course, there's many, many, many hormones in the body. But there's a few, namely sort of five to seven, that I talk about, with regards to anti-aging and weight loss and sort of vibrance with regards to us in our 40s plus. So it's really important to look at all the different hormones together and make sure you're navigating and balancing all of them to achieve your goals. Because going back to this lady that I was speaking with today, she actually mentioned that she had been treated, or she was being treated for it. But obviously, she was still having symptoms. And so, for her, it was important to go back and dig deeper into all of the other hormones and make sure that we aren't just looking at one in sort of like a bubble.

So if any of these symptoms sounds like it's something that you're experiencing, I definitely urge you to get hormone testing done and to look into these things. And another quick side story is I had a lady the other day also tell me that she was experiencing hair thinning, hair loss. And she actually went to see a dermatologist, and I'm not knocking anyone here. I'm just telling you stories. She went to see a dermatologist who diagnosed her with this baldness okay, this hair loss pattern, did this light therapy on her hair, which actually caused her to lose more hair and have more thinning of her hair, where in fact, digging deeper and finding the root cause of things. It was simply that her testosterone, some of the hormones, were out of whack. So it's really important to dig deep, deep into the root cause of things.

And so hopefully this is helpful to you. If you have any questions as always, I would love for you to reach out and ask me. If you think this would be helpful for somebody please do share this video, and I will catch you guys on the flip side. See ya!
